Goes Latin with 3rd Free Concert In Series!

(Santana Tribute Band--Caravanserai to Headline)

 

Tres Bandas!  That’s right 3 bands, performing live under the tent in a Free concert presented by the Stockton Boulevard Partnership.

Headlining the 3rd in the Old Highway 99 Festival 2012 Concert Series is the Latin-rock San Francisco band, Caravanserai, a highly regarded Santana Tribute Band.

Opening acts include Trovadores e Roqueiros, which features Brazilian music and Fuse-a-Nova, a young group of musicians who play bossa nova and jazz.

The FREE concert takes place on September 15, 2012, from 1pm to 5pm,  in the Jon's Home Furnishings lot next to Thrift Town , 4995 Stockton Blvd. (North of Fruitridge Road @ Stockton Boulevard)

Bank of America and Merrill Lynch cardholders in Sacramento were able to visit some great museums over the the Labor Day Weekend for free. The museums that participated were Discovery Museum Science & Space Center The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts Crocker Art Museum.The good news is that if you missed this opportunity this past weekend, you can still experience it.   The Museum on Us® program happens on the first full weekend of each month.

For the final concert of the summer Sunrise Recreation & Park District along with the city of citrus heights City of Citrus Heights bring you Swift Country, a Salute to Taylor Swift. Swift Country will be performing at Rusch Park on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Come join us for a great evening of music in the park to finish off our summer concert series with a bang!

The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by SMUD, the City of Citrus Heights and Sunrise Recreation and Park District. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Sacramento Museums Turn Up the Heat  With Fun Activities in August!

In addition to its fascinating Gold Rush past, the Sacramento area is rich with an amazing array of state-of-the-art museums and historic sites that offer visitors the chance to explore California’s fine art, history, science, and wildlife treasures all year long.  In August, many of the 29 members of Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) are heating up the fun with some out-of-the-box celebrations and activities, including:

During the entire month of August, the Sacramento Children’s Museum celebrates their one-year birthday with special activities every single day! Then on August 30, the Museum is throwing Leo the mascot a big Birthday Bash FUNdraiser!
