Farm-to-Fork Cocktail Train is on a roll

Showcasing the rich history and deep connection between agriculture and the railroad, the California State Railroad Museum Foundation announces that tickets for the 2nd Annual Farm-to-Fork Cocktail Train have sold out in less than two weeks. In addition, the Foundation is pleased to welcome Merchants National Bank – one of the oldest, locally owned and independent banks in Sacramento -- as the presenting sponsor for the 2016 Farm-to-Fork Cocktail Train. Scheduled to take place on Sunday evening, September 25 and coinciding with the start of the Tower Bridge Dinner, the VIP train ride experience first debuted in 2015 and was recognized as a finalist in Sunset Magazine’s Travel Awards competition in the “Best Train Experience” category.

Train ride guests will enjoy a leisurely train ride in three of the Museum’s first-class cars that will depart from the Central Pacific Freight Depot in Old Sacramento at 6 p.m. Ticketed guests will delight in exquisite appetizers and beverages from The Firehouse, Ten 22 and District prepared by Jay Veregge, Director of Culinary Operations for Harvego Restaurant Group, and his talented culinary team. With a farm-to-fork flair in every item and served by uniformed stewards, guests will enjoy the following:

Signature Cocktail
Bourbon (Of) the Branch – house-made peach purée, bourbon, amaretto, house-made brown sugar simple syrup and lemon

Local Farmer’s Cheese Plate – honeycomb and seasonal berries served with house-made crackers
Duck Confit & Apricot Bruschetta -- roasted local apricots, balsamic syrup, roasted black pepper
Spanish Smoked Chicken Empanadas – house-smoked chicken, roasted hatch green chile and tomato jam
Shaved Lamb Sliders -- tarragon aioli, pickled onion and minted endive

“Double Death” by Chocolate – cocoa cookie
