Sacramento Metro firefighters responded to battle a house fire on Raffia Court in Antelope Thursday afternoon.

The occupants of the home got out safely. Two of them were transported to area hospitals for smoke inhalation, according to a firefighter spokesperson.

As crews fought the flames , the roof caved in with two firefighters in the structure, triggering a Mayday call for help. The firefighters made it out safely and were not injured.

Crews sprayed water on the home next door to keep the flames from spreading.

There was no immediate word on what ignited the fire or an estimate of the damage.
