Photo Gallery | Galt Motorcycle Poker Run Raised Funds ~ Galt Fallen Officer Kevin Tonn Memorial

Galt Motorcycle Poker Run to raise funds for Galt Memorial for Fallen Heroes, held October 5, had 71 motorcyclists join the caravan held for the Community Heroes Appreciation Memorial Project charity, a fundraiser to build a memorial for Galt’s Fallen Heroes, the most recent being Officer Kevin Tonn who lost his life in the line-of-duty, January 2013.

It was a great day for the ride which went from Galt to Al the Wops in Walnut Grove, to Foster’s Bighorn In Rio Vista with a third stop at Moore’s Riverboat in Isleton.   A delicious tri trip/chicken lunch was held at Brewster’s Bar and Grill, 201 4th Street, Galt!

Having raised $2,900 with receiving $1,000 in donations, it was indeed a great day.  These monies will be placed ‘in the pot’ to create the Kevin Tonn Memorial Project.

The City of Galt is building a Plaza to be located in front of Galt City Hall, 380 Civic Drive.  The projected cost to be incurred is approximately $112,000, but the City of Galt will be doing much of the work.

Still needing to raise $50,000 - $75,000 to complete the project will entail many more fundraisers and donations.

~ Such a worthy cause to remember those who laid down their lives so that we may live!  ~

Next year, another event will be held with more participants and sponsors participating!

Thank you for your participation, support in spirit and donations!  Together, you will make this happen!
